IME Physician Training and Certification
With the passing of Senate Bill 311 and the updated Oregon Administrative Rules going into effect, all physicians who wish to do Independent Medical Exams in Oregon must complete three hours of IME physician training by July 1, 2006! As of this date, claims examiners, legal professionals, etc. can only schedule with those physicians who have completed the training and have been certified. (This rule applies to workers' compensation claims only.)
There are two ways to receive the training:
DVD
- Once we have received your payment (please see below), we will
send you the DVD and submit your name at that time. Testing will be
required upon completion of review of the DVD.
Proctored Training - Three hour proctored training session scheduled at a location, date and time at your convenience. No testing will be required upon completion of the proctored training session.
Topics to be covered include: Recent relevant changes to the workers’ compensation system, causation, report writing, legal issues, impairment ratings and more.
Training Fee: $100.00 (non-member price)
Membership Fee: $350.00
**For current IMEA members, the training is FREE. Yet another benefit of membership!**
